Course Overview:
In addition to the IPC registered classes, BEST offers customized classes to meet our customer’s specific needs. All of our classes are in accordance with IPC-A-610C and J-STD-001 and students receive a certification from BEST. All of the BEST classes are approximately 85% hands-on, and are designed to dramatically raise the skill set of the student by emphasizing correct soldering techniques. Students are evaluated on their hands-on work, as opposed to an administrative test. This method has been proven to help the student retain the information he/she has learned, and insured that they can accomplish the rework tasks required for their job function.

The popularity of BGA and CBGA packing has been explosive in the PCB industry over the last few years. BGAs offer better first time yields and have proven to be very reliable. Unfortunately, the cost of rework per component has increased substantially for BGAs as a result of the equipment, training and probability of damage. The rising costs of assemblies and BGA components are causing companies to provide substantial training in this area, or outsource the task completely. For those companies that want to have the capability of reworking BGAs, BEST offers the BGA Rework Certification.

The BGA Certification course is a comprehensive course that encompasses the skills necessary to perform rework of electronic printed circuit boards to include PBGA and CBGA technologies. During the course, the student will be introduced to component identification, terms and definations, re-balling techniques, pasting, placing and reflowing, and hands-on Soldering/Desoldering techniques utilizing state-of-the-art workstations. This course is structured to be in accordance with IPC-A-610C, IPC-7711 and IPC-7721.
